Part 1 - Small Cattle Yard. Built the 1st of two stockyard ramps and a oil tank for the caboose track    Still need a 2nd stockyard ramp, the stockyard itself, a windmill, a hay barn, a yard office, and an icing platform. Not to mention painting the rails and ties and adding cinders, dirt, etc. |
Part 2 - Small Cattle Yard. Completed the 2nd stockyard ramp and build a small worker's shack  Still need the stockyard itself, a windmill, a hay barn, a yard office, and an icing platform. Not to mention painting the rails and ties and adding cinders, dirt, etc. |
Part 3 - Small Cattle Yard. Completed the windmill kit. Nothing included for scale, but this kit only is 1/2 inch square at the base and 3 inches tall. Here it is completed but not painted.  Here it is finished. Sorry for the crappy picture, the workbench light burned out as I was adding the weathering.  Still need the stockyard itself, a hay barn, a yard office, and an icing platform. Not to mention painting the rails and ties and adding cinders, dirt, etc. |
Part 4 - Small Cattle Yard. Started work on the stockyard corral itself. Managed to get the fence up on one stall so far. Only three more to go.  Here it is from the other side.  Still need to complete the stockyard itself, a hay barn, a yard office, and an icing platform. Not to mention painting the rails and ties and adding cinders, dirt, etc. |
Part 5 - Small Cattle Yard. Finishing up on the stockyard corral itself. Still need to add the gate braces and the feed and water troughs. Also, looking for a source for good looking cows.  To complete the project, I still need to complete a hay barn, a yard office, and an icing platform. Not to mention painting the rails and ties and adding cinders, dirt, etc. |
Part 6 - Small Cattle Yard. Working on the hay barn and adding dirt to the stalls.   To complete the project, I still need feed and water troughs, a yard office, and an icing platform. Not to mention painting the rails and ties and adding cinders, dirt, etc. |
Part 7 - Small Cattle Yard. Working on the feed troughs. Got one done!  To complete the project, I still have three (3) more feed troughs, 4 water troughs, plus a bunch of other details yet to complete. |
Part 8 - Small Cattle Yard. Working on the feed troughs and finishing the fencing. Installed two (2) more feed troughs and all the upper support beams for the gates.  To complete the project, I still have one (1) more feed trough, 4 water troughs, a bunch of cows to paint, plus a bunch of other details yet to complete. |
Part 9 - Small Cattle Yard. Finished the feed troughs and fencing. Still trying to decide how to make the water troughs. Painted the first 10 cattle. Part 10 - Small Cattle Yard. Built the water troughs using pencil furrules (thanks to a suggestion by @NtheBasement from theRailwire.net). Cut the furrule to size and bent to shape, added a base, painted, added water, then added them to stockyard 
 Installed on the stockyard  Next up ... paint more cows. Build the water tank for the windmill and add more scenery/details. |
Part 11 - Small Cattle Yard. Added a large trough for the windmill. Added scenery around the outside of the fences. Added "cow patties". From the Front  From the Back  And a few close ups        Next up ... paint more cows. And add the piping detail for the water troughs. |
Part 12 - Small Cattle Yard. Finally finished the small cattle yard. Only thing left is to install it on the layout.       |
